J J Green's Crusade
Rev. J. J. Green is a native of Cambridge, Maryland.  He grew up
attending United Missionary Baptist Church on Phillips Street in
Cambridge under the late Rev. Ernest Sutton where he was a member of
the young adult choir.  He has always had a love for God's word and
singing His praises.

In 1963 he moved to New York where he met and married the late Esther
Hutchins.  God blessed their union with three children: James (Jay), Esther
and Miriam.  After marriage he and Esther along with Jay moved to New
Jersey and in the early 70's  they formed a gospel duet  called
The East
Orange Consolers.
They produced a record on the Savoy label and spent
several years touring the gospel music circuit throughout  the east coast.
They have performed on programs with many gospel music legends.

During the late 70's, Rev. Green could no longer ignore his call to preach
the gospel of Jesus Christ so he became an ordained minister.  In 1980,
God placed it upon his heart to start his own ministry and he founded
The
Rev. J. J. Green's Crusade.

In 1982 Esther was diagnosed with terminal cancer so  Rev. Green brought
his family back to his hometown of Cambridge in 1983.  However, in 1992
Esther lost her 10 year battle with cancer.  Rev. Green became a widower
with two daughters, Esther 11 and Miriam 10, to raise alone.  In 1994 God
blessed him with his current wife, Thelma who shares his love of God and
the ministry.  He has often said that "God blessed him with two good
women in one lifetime."

Rev. Green founded his current church,
Soul Outreach Christian Center
under the Crusade in 1985.  Since it's inception, the Church has
experienced many ups and downs, trials and tribulations but through it all
Rev. Green has remained steadfast and unmovable.  As Apostle Paul
instructed him to do in Ephesians 6, he has been
strong in the Lord and
the power of his might
putting on the whole armour of God.  He has stood
with his l
oins girt about with truth with the breastplate of righteousness and
his
feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.  And above all,
he has taken
the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of
the spirit, which is the word of God for which he is an ambassador.

He still continues his love of traditional gospel music and he currently has a
quartet called the
Anointed 5 in which he sings lead and plays lead guitar.
He has also written several songs which are copy written and on file in
Washington DC.
